How we run Swallow
These are the working drafts of the cards that will live aboard. The point of them is that anyone in the crew can pick one up and know how the boat is run, without having to ask and without having to remember.
Each card covers one phase of the day, because the card in your hand should match where you are standing. The outward card takes her from the dock to sailing. The homeward card brings her back and puts her to bed. The maintenance card says what is due and when. The emergency card is the one we hope stays laminated and unread.
The web pages and the printed cards use the same source, so updating one updates both and the printed set can be replaced whenever the boat or our procedures change.
The cards
Each is a double-sided letter sheet. The frame below shows the first side; the second is listed under it and opens with the full-size card.
